Orthographic Analysis
2.2 Punctual Orthographic Analysis
Prologue
A single analytical event can be appropriate when we need a sort of snapshot summary of the current global orthographic state of a student or of a class. This is punctual analysis.
- Durative analysis is a permanent, continuing and integral part of every orthographic teaching event.
- Punctual analysis happens only from time to time, if at all, and is a separate event in itself.
Any analytic process needs a secure point of reference in order to maintain its internal coherence and specific relevance to what is being analysed. The model of orthography that we have already offered is an ideal central point of reference.
Having this model always at hand will be a constant reminder of the essence of all orthographic analysis.
